When I think of research, I think of numbers and statistics, though I know that is not all there is to research. In the early childhood field, research reminds me of best practices and program recommendations, both of which are based on research. We base (or should base) program design, curriculum, and policies on current research.
After taking this course I have learned that research is a long, involved process. In order for research findings to be used universally, studies have to be duplicated numerous times. I tip my hat to those who undertake early childhood research, it is difficult work that need to be done.

Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed sharing this course with you! Research can be very daunting and overwhelming, but the outcomes can be quite beneficial. I have never conducted any EC research, but hopefully, I will be able to in the future. Good luck with your academic career!
