Family Culture
If I were forced to leave my home and country and take only three things they would be, a photo album, a large, blank notebook, and the family cookbook. I would take a photo album so as not to forget the family members who could not travel to the new country with us, as well as those who have already passed away. I would take a notebook because much of my families cultures is built around stories of past generations, this way I could write down the stories to help pass them on to future generations. And lastly, I would take my family cookbook filled with recipes that have been passed down for generations. This was chosen because many of those stories are told at large family gatherings around the dinner table.

Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI really like your idea of bringing a blank notebook! Writing down family history information would give you the opportunity to share details with future generations! Great idea!
